For the Love of God, Please Just Go Watch Glow on Netflix!

March 12, 2018

I like wrestling just as much as the next guy but if you take wresting plus hot eighties chicks with big hair and glam makeup; who wouldn't love that! Eat your heart out Andy Kaufman! Now there isn't man on lady action in this series at least not as far as wrestling goes but this show is lady driven the whole way! The girls come from all walks of life; most want to be actors in a soap or on the big screen. The story focuses on two friends who have a falling out due to an act of infidelity with one of the friends husband. A humiliating confrontation turns into an enormous opportunity for both friends. This series is fun, well written and it moves at a great pace.  I loved watching each lady grow into their characters and there is great chemistry and charm between the leading ladies, Alison Brie and Betty Gilpin. I loved this series and I will watch it again and again. Go check it out on Netflix!>>>>>>>>>>>>https://www.netflix.com/title/80114988

For the Love of God, Please Just Go Watch Okja!

This is a quirky tale of a strange sustainable food source that is supposed to be the answer to world hunger and ECO balance. The  food source is a strange sort of pig that is the size of a rhino, and it's distributed to farmers all over the world to raise. A young girl befriends the beast and they become inseparable. The distributor of the the ECO-pigs are in search of the perfect one for a marketing campaign, and the only perfect one belongs to this girl but she won't give up the prized animal without a fight. This film starts out kind of slow but it is a good story if you stick with it. The second half is action packed, hilarious and worth the slow burn. It is a bit of an emotional roller coaster and has some disturbing scenes of animal abuse but keep in mind that no animals were hurt during the film or used at all for that matter.   It stars Tilda Swinton, Jake Gyllenhaal, Steven Yeun ,Seo-Hyun Ahn and Paul Dano. It was written and directed by Bong Joon Ho.   I highly recommend this film so here is the link!>>>>>>>>>>>>> https://www.netflix.com/title/80091936

For the Love of God, Please Just Go Watch A Monster Calls!

Feb. 27, 2018

This forgotten fantasy came out in 2016 during awards season. It was in some awards discussion, but was mostly overlooked. It didn't make any money at the box office either. It stars Lewis MacDougall as a young boy who's mother, (Felicity Jones) is dying from cancer. His stern grandmother (Sigourney Weaver) and his absent father (Tony Kebbell) try to help him cope but to no avail. His only help comes from a tree monster voiced by Liam Neeson. The monster tells him tales that seem to make no sense until the end. The tales are told in beautiful watercolor. The director, JA Bayona, of this summer's Jurassic World sequel, does a fantastic job with this sensitive story with beautiful direction and cinematography. It was overlooked when it came out, but it is sure to hit you right in the feels. Go forth and watch! I commandeth thee!
